Louis Pavoni (1784–1849)
Founding priest
Priest from Brescia, Luis Pavoni understood that poor young people needed a home, education, faith and a job.
Biography
He founded the San Bernabé Institute, with printing, arts and agricultural workshops that were precursors of professional schools, and created a religious family to continue the work. He took in orphans during an epidemic and also opened educational paths for deaf youth. In the midst of political unrest he led his boys to a safe place in the rain; He contracted a serious illness and died a few days later.
