Priest of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, Luis Scrosoppi responded to the poverty of Friuli, plagued by wars, epidemics and hunger, by welcoming and educating abandoned girls.
Biography
She gave away her assets, begged for alms when necessary, and founded the Sisters of Providence to support schools, homes, and charities. His trust in God was not passive: it encouraged him to organize resources and work tirelessly. When anticlerical laws threatened her institutions, she defended the young women and ensured the continuity of the mission with prudence and strength.
