Luis Versiglia, Salesian bishop, and Calixto Caravario, young missionary priest, served in China forming communities, schools and vocations.
Biography
On February 25, 1930, they were traveling with several young women when an armed group tried to take them away. Both missionaries defended them and were beaten and shot. They faced death with serenity, offering their lives for the people entrusted to their care. His martyrdom expressed the Salesian ideal of giving one's life to the end for young people and for the mission.
