Born into a noble family in Verona, Madeleine of Canossa experienced loss, illness, and family tensions.
Biography
He tried the Carmelite life twice, but understood that his path was to serve Christ in the poor. While responsibly managing the family assets, he started schools, catechism, caring for the sick, and training teachers. She founded the Canosian Daughters of Charity and also promoted a male branch. He left the palace without disregarding his responsibilities: he put his abilities, relationships and assets at the service of those who lacked opportunities.
