The Spanish priest Manuel Gómez González and the young Brazilian altar boy Adilio Daronch were murdered during a pastoral mission in southern Brazil.
Biography
Manuel had served in Spain and Portugal before arriving in Rio Grande do Sul, where he evangelized extensive territories and also attended to indigenous communities. Adilio, fifteen years old, accompanied him as a student, guide and assistant on long journeys. Both were ambushed when they were on their way to visit a community and died for their fidelity to the ministry and faith.
