Marcelina (+400)
consecrated virgin
When her father, prefect of the praetorium of Transalpine Gaul, died, Marcellina and her brother Saint Ambrose returned to Italy.
Biography
Marcelina received the habit of virgins in Saint Peter's in Rome in 353. She followed her brother to Milan, when he became archbishop of this city. Saint Ambrose wrote his treatise De virginibus to encourage Marceline's religious vocation. The brothers maintained an assiduous correspondence. Marcelina survived Ambrosio and helped Paulino of Milan with her testimonies for the completion of the biography that was being written about the great doctor.
Practical advice
In a spirit of service, prepare well a conversation in which you must guide someone as someone who works and prays under the loving gaze of God.
