Daisy

Martyr

She was expelled from her home for converting to Christianity.

Biography

Margaret became a shepherd and was tending her lambs that day near Antioch when the governor Olibrio passed by. He immediately fell in love with her and said to his servant, “If she is free, I will marry her, and if she is not, I want her as a concubine.” To their questions she responded that she was noble, that her name was Margaret and she declared herself a Christian. "The first two things suit you - Olibrio observed - everything is noble in you, there is no pearl (daisy) in the world that equals you in beauty, but it is unworthy of you to worship a shamefully crucified God." The next day Margarita's answers irritated the governor so much that he ordered her head to be cut off. We know nothing more about this martyr who was so popular in Europe after the crusades and from whom so many queens, saints and simple Christians bear her name. We don't know her other than what Joan of Arc has said about her. Saint Margaret was, in fact, one of the voices that spoke to her from the time she was thirteen, guiding her throughout her mission and encouraging her when she had to climb the stake.

Practical advice

In the midst of your ordinary work, calmly defend a truth that others prefer to keep silent about and also take care of the small details.
