María Alfonsina Danil Ghattas (1843–1927)

A Palestinian nun born in Jerusalem, María Alfonsina Danil Ghattas served as a teacher and catechist in several communities in the Holy Land.
Biography
Driven by a deep devotion to the rosary, she collaborated in the founding of the Rosary Sisters of Jerusalem, the first Arab female religious congregation in the region. Out of humility he remained in the background and obeyed his superiors without appropriating the work he had inspired. She trained girls, promoted Christian mothers' associations and worked for unity and service. His life made the rosary a school of apostolic meekness.
