Secular

Daughter of German peasants and with little school education, María Catalina Kasper worked from a young age in the fields and even breaking stone for roads.

Biography

Her profound life of prayer and her attention to the poor attracted other women, with whom she founded the Poor Servants of Jesus Christ. The new community cared for the sick, children and the elderly and spread to other countries.
