María Celina of the Presentation (1878–1897)

Biography

French Poor Clare born Juana Germana Castang, María Celina de la Presentación lived poverty, disability and illness with generous joy. Polio damaged one of his legs since childhood and his family experienced hunger, loss and displacement; Even so, he took care of his brothers and served other sick people. After overcoming many difficulties she entered the monastery of the Poor Clares of Talence. Her religious life lasted a few months, as she died of tuberculosis at the age of nineteen, fully confident in her encounter with God.
