Biography

Italian Poor Clare and Abbess, Mary Crucified Satellico lived a profound contemplation of the cross with Franciscan simplicity. Born in Venice as Isabel María, she was educated by a priest uncle and since she was a child she showed a love of prayer. At the age of fourteen he entered the monastery of Ostra Vetere, although he had to wait five years to receive the habit. She professed in 1726, served as abbess and vicar and obediently accepted to leave the government when the bishop so ordered. He died of tuberculosis at the age of thirty-nine.
