Biography
First blessed of Venezuela, Laura Alvarado Cardozo took the name of Mary of Saint Joseph and founded the Augustinian Recollects of the Heart of Jesus. Her intense Eucharistic life led her to serve the elderly, sick, orphans and abandoned children; He also prepared for years the hosts that he distributed free of charge to priests. She taught her sisters that they should welcome precisely those whom no one wanted to receive. In her, adoration was not an evasion, but the source of hospitality without exclusions and persevering charity.
