An Argentine nun, María del Tránsito Cabanillas founded the first female congregation born in her country: the Franciscan Tertiary Missionary Sisters.
Biography
He grew up in a deeply Christian family in Córdoba and for years he took care of his parents and siblings, while teaching catechism and helping the poor and sick. After several religious experiences that did not correspond to her vocation, in 1878 she started a community dedicated to the Christian education of children, especially of girls without resources. The work was born in poverty and faced many difficulties, which she sustained with humility, patience and Eucharistic confidence.
