Maria Elena Stollenwerk (1852–1900)
Missionary
Since she was a child, the German María Elena Stollenwerk felt a strong desire to bring the Gospel to other peoples, especially China.
Biography
Upon meeting Saint Arnold Janssen, he collaborated in the founding of the Missionary Servants of the Holy Spirit. As the first superior, she helped form a contemplative and apostolic community, sustained by prayer to the Holy Spirit.
