María Encarnación Rosal (1820–1886)

Guatemalan nun and reformer of the Betlemite Sisters, María Encarnación Rosal focused her life on the Eucharist and the education of poor girls.
Biography
Baptized Vicenta Rosal, she entered the Bethlehem Beguinage in Guatemala City as a young woman. Perceiving that the community had moved away from its original fervor, he promoted a renewal of the rule, prayer and educational service, facing strong resistance. The political upheavals led her to exile and to found houses and schools in several countries in America. He spread devotion to the internal Sorrows of the Heart of Jesus and persevered with humility until he died in Colombia.
