French noblewoman, wife and mother, Marie Louise de Lamoignon lost her husband, unjustly executed during the Terror of the French Revolution.
Biography
Instead of allowing himself to be dominated by hatred, he deepened his dedication to God and the service of the poor. Already a widow, she founded the Sisters of Charity of San Luis to educate needy girls and prepare them humanly, Christianly and professionally. With a joyful spirit he eliminated social distinctions within his community and taught to carry the cross freely. He transformed a family tragedy into a lasting work of mercy.
