Mary Magdalene of the Passion (1845–1921)
Servite nun
Italian nun, Constanza Starace—Mary Magdalene of the Passion—founded the Compassionist Sisters Servants of Mary to attend to the spiritual and corporal needs of others.
Biography
Her health prevented her from entering the cloister, but it led her to profess as a Servite tertiary. While leading the Daughters of Mary and teaching catechism, a cholera epidemic showed him the urgency of serving the sick, orphans and poor. She lived united to the crucified Christ and the Sorrowful Virgin, enduring illnesses and harsh internal trials without abandoning the work entrusted to her.
