María Rosa Pellesi, nun (1917–1972)
Franciscan missionary nun
Italian Franciscan missionary, María Rosa Pellesi transformed twenty-seven years of tuberculosis and isolation into a fruitful mission of prayer.
Biography
Before entering the convent she helped raise six nephews who had been left motherless. She professed in 1942 and taught during the war, but in 1945 she was admitted to a sanatorium from which she would not leave to resume her active life.
