Maria Teresa of Soubiran

Founding religious

(1834-1889) He was born in Castelnaudary, France, where he founded the Congregation of Saint Mary Help of Christians, dedicated to the education of poor children and the care of the sick.

Biography

The institution was going to receive papal approval, when a woman joined it, the alleged widow Roche, who was not actually a widow, and who came to occupy positions of great responsibility. He dedicated himself to defaming the founder, and even displaced her, and then expelled her from the congregation. Poor Mother Teresa didn't know what to do and ended up being accepted into the Parisian house of Our Lady of Charity. There she made her profession and lived fifteen years forgotten by everyone except God. She died of consumption amidst general indifference. The aforementioned widow Riché governed the institution for many years until her husband found her. She was expelled from the convent and her trace was lost.

Practical advice

As you begin your work, renew your confidence that Mary always leads Jesus with external order and interior recollection.
