Maria Theresa Haze (1782–1876)
Founding religious
Belgian nun and founder of the Daughters of the Cross of Liège, Maria Teresa Haze responded to the wounds left by the French Revolution through education and charity.
Biography
After years of exile and hardship, she started a free school for poor girls with her sister. From that work was born a congregation dedicated to teaching, caring for the sick and accompanying those in need. As superior, she governed with prudence, a spirit of faith and love for the cross. His long life was a patient Christian reconstruction from the classrooms and daily service.
