Founding hermit
He lived as a hermit for a few years in a cave and later founded a monastery near Clemont-Ferrand, in France.
Biography
He died there very old, ten years before Saint Gregory of Tours was born in that city. According to him, Saint Mars had a reputation as a miracle worker: “He cured my father of fever and his friend Nivardo of a dangerous dropsy by simply giving his blessing.”
