Miguel de los Santos (1591–1625)
Hermit
He was born in Vic, Catalonia, Spain, the son of a notary.
Biography
His first vocation was that of a solitary hermit in Montseny, but due to his young age, he was prohibited from doing so. The monasteries did not accept him either, but he did not want to wait, and at the age of twelve he managed to be admitted to the Trinitarians of Barcelona. He then changes to a stricter order, the barefoot trinitarians. He was named superior of the convent of Valladolid and there he died in the odor of holiness at the age of thirty-three: a man of government, writer, mystic and preacher. He is the patron saint of his hometown.
Practical advice
Today, in the presence of God, speak about God naturally to a friend, remembering that holiness is built in the ordinary.
