Miguelina Metelli (+1356)
Franciscan nun
She was born in Pesaro, Italy, married at the age of twelve to a duke of the Malatesta family and was widowed at the age of twenty.
Biography
After losing her only son she became a Franciscan tertiary. He distributed his goods among the most needy, began to live on alms and sought, like the Savior, the contempt of the world. Her vocation had to bring her a large amount of evidence, the first being that her in-laws locked her in a tower on the pretext that she was crazy. Her jailers could not bear to become executioners of such a good and charming woman and helped her out of the tower. The townspeople took her side, and her family let her live as she wanted. For thirty years Miguelina devoted herself above all to the care of lepers, whom she cared for with loving care. At the end of his life he used his last strength to visit the Holy Land, dying upon returning from his pilgrimage.
Practical advice
When you begin your work, create a moment of screen-free conversation in your home and start again with humility if it doesn't go well.
