martyr priest
Practical advice
Renounce today a form of revenge—a word, a hostile silence, or a publication—and sincerely ask for good from the one who hurt you.
Biography
Croatian priest from Istria, Miroslav Bulešić was murdered out of hatred for the faith while defending the Church's freedom to administer the sacraments. Ordained in 1943, he served as a parish priest during the war and helped people on different sides, insisting that his only revenge was forgiveness. As a seminary trainer, in 1947 he accompanied the episcopal delegate who administered confirmations in several parishes. After a celebration in Lanišće, a communist group broke into the parish house and stabbed him. He died forgiving everyone and asking God to lead them to the right path.
