Nazario and Celso, martyrs
Martyrs
Nazario was born in Rome.
Biography
His father was a wealthy pagan knight, originally from North Africa, and his mother a fervent Christian. It is believed that he was baptized by Pope Saint Lino, successor of Saint Peter. Inflamed with divine love, he left Rome to dedicate himself to the salvation of souls.
Refusing to abandon the faith, he was scourged and expelled from Milan. He then took his preaching to Gaul. In the town of Melia, a woman named Marionilla entrusted her son Celso to him to be baptized and instructed in the faith.
Nazario and Celso, teacher and disciple, together announced the Gospel with their word and with the example of their lives, until they received martyrdom.
Practical advice
Accompany a younger person in the faith today and patiently teach them a Christian practice.
