She was Tyrolean, from Rattenberg, the daughter of impoverished peasants, and was hired as a cook in the castle of a great local lord, Count Henry of Rothenburg, and later served in a farmhouse.
Biography
She was very generous with the poor, which is why she sometimes got into trouble with her masters because she gave them the food intended for the animals. His remains, highly venerated in the region, rest in a chapel in Eben. She is the patron saint of domestic service in Tyrol and Bavaria and is usually represented dressed as a Tyrolean peasant, and her attributes are the sheaf, the sickle and a milk jug.
