Our Lady of Guadalupe
Blessed Virgin Mary
In December 1531, the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Juan Diego at Tepeyac and identified herself as the Mother of the true God for whom we live.
Biography
Speaking with maternal tenderness and using signs meaningful to the peoples of Mexico, she asked for a church where she could show her love, compassion, help, and protection. The image on Juan Diego’s tilma and the message entrusted to him became a powerful source of evangelization and unity. Our Lady of Guadalupe is honored as Patroness of the Americas and a mother who leads her children to Christ.
Practical advice
Trusting in God’s grace, entrust to Mary an intention of the Church and the world, and offer that effort for someone who needs help.
