Biography
The cult of the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia, dates back beyond the invasion of Spain by the Arabs, although the discovery of the image during the reconquest gave a definitive boost to popular devotion, which later spread widely throughout Spain and Europe thanks to its numerous miracles and the pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago.
