Blessed Virgin
According to an ancient and venerated tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary, still in her mortal body, appeared in Zaragoza on a column or pillar, to the apostle Santiago, encouraging him in his evangelization throughout Spanish lands.
Biography
The Basilica built on that site is one of the most visited Marian temples in the world. Under his sponsorship, on October 12, 1492, the evangelization of America began.
