Nunzio Sulprizio (1817–1836)
young
A young Italian worker, Nunzio Sulprizio endured orphanhood, labor exploitation and a painful illness without losing trust in God.
Biography
Since he was a child, he was forced by a violent uncle to work as a blacksmith in inhumane conditions; a leg injury aggravated until he was incapacitated. Later welcomed in Naples, he received care, education and preparation for First Communion. His love for the Eucharist and the Virgin sustained his patience until his death, which occurred when he was barely nineteen years old.
