Otto of Bamberg (+1139)
Monk
He is known as the Apostle of Pomerania and also as the Father of Monks for having founded twenty monasteries in Germany.
Biography
Emperor Henry IV admired his talent so much and revered his holiness that he tolerated his reproaches, especially that he had taken revenge on the Pope by sending him into exile for having had to beg forgiveness when he was excommunicated. For twenty years, Otto tried to persuade both parties, Church and Emperor, to lower their pretensions to achieve a separation of Church and State, until he succeeded with the Concordat of Worms, which put an end to a scandalous situation for Christendom for so long.
Practical advice
When you begin your work, first attend to those who need your time most and start again with humility if it doesn't go well.
