Biography
French Premonstratensian canon and martyr of the Revolution, Pedro Adriano Toulorge preferred the truth to the possibility of saving his life with a lie. Expelled from his abbey due to the suppression of religious orders, he briefly left France, mistakenly believing he was forced into exile. Upon understanding his mistake, he returned and clandestinely carried out the ministry. Detained, he initially denied having emigrated; Later, moved by conscience, he rectified his statement even though he knew that by doing so he was exposing himself to the death penalty. Condemned, he forgave his judges, prayed in peace and was guillotined on October 13, 1793.
