Pedro Francisco Jamet (1762–1845)
Priest
French priest, educator and protector of the Daughters of the Good Savior, Pedro Francisco Jamet remained faithful during the French Revolution.
Biography
He rejected the oath required of the clergy, celebrated clandestinely and supported persecuted nuns and faithful. When peace returned, he reorganized the congregation and developed innovative methods for the education of deaf people. He was also rector of the University of Caen, where he worked to reconcile culture and faith. His intelligence was always at the service of those who had fewer opportunities.
