Biography
A Colombian priest known as the “Armero Martyr,” Pedro María Ramírez underwent a long discernment before ordination: he temporarily left the seminary, worked as a teacher, and finally returned with a more mature conviction. During the riots of 1948 he remained in his parish to accompany the faithful and protect the Blessed Sacrament. A mob violently removed him from the parish house and murdered him. Before dying, he forgave his attackers and offered his life for Christ and his people.
