Pedro Nolasco
Founding Mercedarian monk
(+1249) He was a rich merchant, of Provençal origin, but based in Barcelona.
Biography
He gave his profits to redeem captives in North Africa. Inspired by the Virgin, he founded the Order of the Mercedarians, dedicated to this same thing, and which required a fourth vow from its monks: to remain hostages if necessary to free the imprisoned Christians.
Practical advice
As an offering to the Lord, remain silent in the face of an annoyance and turn it into prayer and offer that effort for someone who needs help.
