Perpetua and Felicitas, martyrs (+203)
Martyrs
Because of her conversion to Christianity, Perpetua, a young noblewoman of 22 years old, mother of a son, and Felicitas, her slave, who gave birth in prison, were tormented.
Biography
Perpetua's father tried in every way to dissuade her from her faith. They died joyfully for Christ. The records of his martyrdom were read, since the time of St. Augustine, on the day of his commemoration, in the Christian communities of North Africa. Mention is made of them in the Roman Canon of the Holy Mass. External pressures can never lead us to deny our faith.
Practical advice
By collecting your heart in silence, forgive a specific offense from the heart, putting the result in God's hands.
