Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Practical advice
In the middle of your ordinary work, pray three Hail Marys for purity of heart and end with a brief act of thanksgiving.
Biography
This memorial, rooted in an ancient Christian tradition, celebrates Mary’s complete dedication to God from the beginning of her life. Although the event is not narrated in the canonical Gospels, the feast expresses a truth revealed in Scripture and lived by the Church: Mary belonged wholly to the Lord and was prepared by grace for her mission as Mother of the Savior. Her interior offering invites every Christian to place gifts, plans, work, and future at God’s service.
