Quintin (+287)
Missionary
Quintin was the son of a Roman senator who was highly appreciated by the people.
Biography
He was baptized by Pope Saint Marcellinus and when Pope Saint Gaius organized an expedition of missionaries to go to evangelize France, Quintin was chosen to be part of this group of evangelizers. Saint Quentin dedicated himself with such great enthusiasm to preaching in Amiens, that it soon became one of the most fervent churches in the country. This saint had also received the gift of healing and a special power to ward off evil spirits. The pagan priests began to complain to Governor Riciovaro that their temples were going to be left without followers if Quentin continued preaching and performing wonders. This governor, after reproaching Quentin for the fact that a son of a noble senator preached the religion of a crucified man, and failing to convince him to abandon it, ordered him to be cruelly tortured and then beheaded.
