Regina Protmann (1552–1613)
Founding religious
Polish founder and pioneer of women's apostolic religious life, Regina Protmann responded to post-Council of Trent needs.
Biography
She left a comfortable life to care for the sick in their homes, educate girls and spiritually accompany women. She founded the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Catherine, which united prayer and active service, a new way for its time. Its motto "As God wants" expressed a concrete availability for every need. He lived without reserve, seeking the renewal of the Church through daily mercy.
