Priest
Practical advice
Offer prudent help today in an unpleasant or risky task that everyone avoids, also taking care of your responsibility.
Biography
German Pallottine priest, Ricardo Henkes denounced Nazism and especially the elimination of sick and disabled people. Arrested and sent to Dachau, he continued to exercise his ministry among the prisoners and promoted reconciliation between Germans and Czechs. When a typhus epidemic broke out, he volunteered to care for the sick in an isolated barrack. He became infected and died there. His desire to be a “sacrificial priest” came true by freely carrying the cross of others.
