Solomon Leclercq (1745–1792)
Lasallian religious martyr
Brother of the Christian Schools and martyr of the French Revolution, Salomón Leclercq dedicated his life to educating and training children and young people.
Biography
Born Nicolás Leclercq, he left the family business to follow the vocation received alongside his former Lasallian teachers. He was a teacher, trainer and general secretary of his congregation. By refusing to take an oath contrary to conscience and communion with the Church, he had to live in hiding. Arrested in Paris, he was murdered on September 2, 1792 along with numerous priests and religious.
