Savina Petrilli (1851–1923)

Religious of Siena, Savina Petrilli received from Pius IX the advice to follow in the footsteps of Saint Catherine.
Biography
With five companions she founded the Sisters of the Poor of Saint Catherine of Siena to serve orphans, the sick, the elderly and needy families. He spread the congregation throughout Italy and opened missions in Brazil, sustaining the work with a demanding life of prayer, obedience and abandonment to God. His determination not to voluntarily deny anything to the Lord translated into constant availability for the needs he encountered.
