Polish Archbishop of Warsaw, Sigismund Félix Feliński defended the freedom of the Church and the dignity of his people without allowing himself to be dominated by political hatred.
Biography
Orphaned by his father and separated from his mother, who was deported to Siberia, he studied in Moscow and Paris before being ordained a priest. Appointed archbishop in 1862, he renewed the clergy, catechesis and assistance to poor children. For protesting against Russian repression he was exiled for twenty years. She founded the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary and spent her final years serving as a humble pastor in a village.
