Seraphim Morazzone (1747–1822)
Priest
A Lombard priest of poor origin, Seraphim Morazzone supported his family while he studied and served as a clergyman in the cathedral of Milan.
Biography
Ordained after a long wait, he chose the small and needy parish of Chiuso, where he remained almost all his life. He shared the poverty of peasants and fishermen, preached with simplicity, cared for the sick and was a prudent confessor sought even by Saint Louis Orione. He did not aspire to important destinations: he transformed a small community through decades of faithful presence.
