Simon de Rojas (1552–1624)
Founding Trinitarian priest
Spanish Trinitarian, preacher and apostle of the name of Mary, Simón de Rojas combined important responsibilities with intense attention to the poor.
Biography
He entered the Order of the Holy Trinity at a very young age, was a professor, superior and visitor, and became preceptor of the infants and confessor of the queen. He founded the Congregation of the Slaves of the Most Sweet Name of Mary and spread the invocation "Hail Mary." He took advantage of his proximity to the court to promote works of mercy and defend those in need. He died in Madrid surrounded by popular veneration.
