Tarcisius, martyr of the Eucharist (3rd century)

The Roman Martyrology recounts the life of this young saint like this: "In Rome, on the Appian Way, Tarcisius, an acolyte, was martyred.
Biography
The pagans found him while he was carrying the Sacrament of the Body of Christ and asked him what he was carrying. Tarcisius refused to answer and the pagans beat and stoned him until he breathed his last but they could not take the Sacrament of Christ from him. The Christians collected Tarcisus's body and gave him an honorable burial. in the Calixto Cemetery.”
