Biography
From 1235 until his death he was abbot of the monastery of VauxdeCernay, in France, which then had two hundred monks. He always got up first and went to bed last. He was very humble and diligent: he swept the hallways, cleaned the cells, took the mortar and stones to the bricklayers. King Saint Louis, who for many years had no children, attributed to her prayers the happiness of having finally been able to found a large family.
