Teresa Margarita Redi (1747–1770)
Carmelite nun
An Italian Discalced Carmelite, Teresa Margarita Redi received as the center of her spiritual life the affirmation of Saint John: "God is love." In the monastery of Florence he sought to translate it into constant prayer, obedience and delicate care of the elderly and sick sisters.
Biography
He did not look for striking works; His holiness matured in silent attention and daily dedication. He died of peritonitis before his twenty-third birthday. His brief life showed that Christian contemplation does not separate us from concrete needs, but rather teaches us to recognize and serve the love of God in each person.
Practical advice
Secretly make a gesture of care for an elderly person and avoid telling others that it was you who did it.
