Thais (4th century)
Nun
Although she was one of the most sought after and richest courtesans in Egypt, she was not happy.
Biography
The monk Pafnutius spoke to her about the end of life and converted her with the grace of God. Thais allowed himself to be confined in a walled cell in a neighboring monastery of Paphnutius. After three years of leading this lifestyle, Pafnutius freed his spiritual daughter and introduced her to a community of nuns directed by him. There Thais died some years later in the odor of holiness.
Practical advice
With simplicity and joy, give up unnecessary distraction for a few hours with external order and internal recollection.
