Tiburcio Arnáiz Muñoz (1865–1926)
Jesuit missionary priest
Spanish Jesuit priest, Tiburcio Arnáiz Muñoz evangelized forgotten neighborhoods, farmhouses and towns through popular missions and works of charity.
Biography
Orphaned by his father since he was a child, he studied with great sacrifice and first served as a diocesan priest. He later entered the Society of Jesus, moved by his love for the Heart of Christ and the desire to reach those who lacked pastoral care. He taught the poor to read, promoted rural chapels and schools, and collaborated with lay people so that the mission continued after his departure.
